UI concepts informing product design
"TV" is changing - from the size of the screen video is being watched on to
the content itself. This time / channel grid UI no longer represents the fastest
way for consumers to connect to the content they want to watch.
Amongst the most popular forms of video entertainment "online" are video game
streams - from live competitive play (esports) to play throughs of single
player experiences - people can connect to the content more directly and more
discretely than ever.
The following mockups, prioritizes only the essential attributes consumers
are looking for (the game in motion, the title of the game and it's popularity)
in a big screen UI. Sensitivity was paid to the limited control options that
remote controls provide.
The mockups also represent a "first cut" at a data MVP (minimum viable product);
the attributes Gracenote will need to / are building into the APIs.
